Terms of Service

Effective August 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Club Serenity Inc. website and the online tools we operate, including our check-in kiosk, client portal, event sign-ups, contact forms, and the recovery housing application. By using any of these, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

Club Serenity Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving people affected by substance use disorder and their families. These Terms cover:

  • This public website and everything published on it.
  • The check-in kiosk and check-in forms used at our drop-in center.
  • The client portal, where linked clients view appointments, forms, documents, and messages.
  • The recovery housing application and any follow-up correspondence about it.
  • Event sign-ups, contact forms, donation links, and membership sign-ups.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use these services. You can always reach us by phone or in person instead.

2. No medical advice; emergencies

Content on this website is provided for general information and community support. It is not medical, clinical, legal, or professional advice, and using this site does not create a treatment relationship.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Do not use website forms, portal messages, or email to report an emergency — those are not monitored around the clock.

3. Eligibility and accurate information

You agree to provide information that is accurate, current, and complete, and to update it when it changes. Program eligibility, housing placement, and services depend on the information you give us.

Some services and forms are intended for adults. Where a minor may participate, we may require a parent or guardian's involvement except where state or federal law allows a minor to consent on their own.

4. Accounts and portal access

Client portal access is granted by invitation and may be limited, suspended, or ended at our discretion. Staff accounts are provided for authorized personnel only.

  • Keep your password confidential and do not share your account with anyone.
  • Tell us right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
  • Do not attempt to access records that do not belong to you.

5. Consent to electronic communications (email, text, and voice calls)

By providing your email address or telephone number and selecting how you would like to be reached, you agree that Club Serenity Inc. and the vendors acting on our behalf may contact you by email, by SMS/MMS text message, and by telephone — including calls that are automatically dialed or that use a prerecorded or artificial voice — at the contact information you provide.

How to opt in to text messages:

  • Online: provide your phone number on our website, check-in kiosk, or client portal and check the box agreeing to receive text messages from Club Serenity Inc..
  • By text: text START to (724) 395-8340 from your mobile number.

These messages may include:

  • Appointment reminders, check-in follow-up, and encounter or service notifications.
  • Recovery housing application status, interviews, move-in, and residency notices.
  • Portal invitations, password resets, and security notices.
  • Program updates, meeting and hours changes, events, closures, and weather notices.
  • Donation, membership, and receipt confirmations you request.

Consent to marketing or informational messages is not a condition of receiving services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. We do not control carrier delivery and cannot guarantee that any message will arrive.

To stop text messages, reply STOP to any text; reply HELP for help. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in the message. To change how we reach you at any time — including asking us to use only one channel, or to leave no voicemail — tell any staff member, update your contact preferences in the portal, or contact us using the details below.

Important: opting out of reminders does not end your responsibility for scheduled appointments, program requirements, or housing obligations, and we may still contact you when we are required or permitted to do so for treatment, safety, payment, or legal reasons.

Email, text messages, and voicemail are not secure. Anyone with access to your phone, voicemail, or inbox may see them. See our Privacy Policy for how we limit what we include in these messages.

The full SMS terms are at https://clubserenity.org/sms-terms.

Opt-in disclosure: End users opt-in by visiting https://clubserenity.org and adding their phone number. They then check a box agreeing to receive text messages from Club Serenity Inc.. Additionally, end users can also opt-in by texting START to (724) 395-8340 to opt in. Terms and Conditions at https://clubserenity.org/sms-terms. Privacy Policy at https://clubserenity.org/privacy.

6. Electronic signatures and records

You agree that your typed or drawn signature on our forms is a legally binding electronic signature under the federal E-SIGN Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), with the same force and effect as a handwritten signature, and that we may deliver notices, consents, and records to you electronically.

We retain a signature certificate recording the date, time, method, and technical details of each signature (current consent wording version 2024-06-1). You may request a paper copy of anything you sign, and you may withdraw your consent to electronic records by contacting us — though some services may only be available electronically.

7. Acceptable use and conduct

When using our online services, our drop-in center, or our recovery housing, you agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or someone else's information.
  • Attempt to access, copy, or interfere with records, accounts, or systems you are not authorized to use.
  • Upload malicious code, scrape the site, or disrupt or overload our services.
  • Harass, threaten, or endanger staff, volunteers, residents, or other participants.
  • Photograph, record, or publicly identify other participants — attendance at a recovery program is confidential.
  • Use our services for any unlawful purpose.

Recovery housing residents are also subject to the separate residency agreement and house rules provided at move-in, which control if they conflict with these Terms on housing matters.

We may suspend or end access to any online service for conduct that violates these Terms or endangers others.

8. Donations, membership, and payments

Donations and membership payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not receive or store your full card or bank account numbers. Your payment is also subject to that provider's terms and privacy policy.

Donations are voluntary and, unless we state otherwise in writing, are not refundable. If you believe a payment was made in error or duplicated, contact us and we will review it in good faith. Any statement about the tax treatment of a gift is general information only — consult your tax advisor.

9. Content, trademarks, and third-party links

The text, images, logos, and design of this website belong to Club Serenity Inc. or our licensors and may not be copied or used commercially without our written permission. You may share and print pages for personal, non-commercial use.

We link to partner organizations, resources, and payment providers we do not control. Those links are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement or a guarantee of the services offered there.

If you send us feedback, photos, or other content, you give us permission to use it in connection with our programs, unless you tell us otherwise. Never send us another person's health information without their permission.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Our online services are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that information on it is complete or current, and we disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Club Serenity Inc., its board, staff, and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of these online services. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of these online services or your violation of these Terms or of another person's rights.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth or State of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you consent to that venue.

Before filing anything, please contact us — most concerns are resolved quickly and informally. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows the most recent version. Continuing to use our online services after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
